Let's Get Mandibular.
Some people just go out of their way to get offended, eh?
I was leaving Dunkin Donuts today with a kickass large Coolata, a box of donuts, and my purse, and was talking to my daughter. I nudged the door open, and a lady who was coming in, took hold of it. I finished what I was already saying to my daughter, and turned to thank her. But before I could, she snaps most snarkily, "You're welcome," and enters.
Now that's just obnoxious. First of all, I had already opened the door. Technically, I had opened it for HER. Second, I would have thanked her had I been given time. And she had a granddaughter in tow--does she not realize kids pick up on that shit? My daughter asked me what was wrong with the lady. I told her I didn't say thank you fast enough. I got the patented Morgan Grownups-Are-Nuts Look.
Old people expect respect from younger folk, but a lot never feel they need to extend the same courtesy. Let me tell you something: you had nothing to do with getting to be your age. Respect needs to be earned, and a good way to earn it to BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS.
Oh, and the EW...here ya go. Speaking of people doing crap to impressionable kids.
